Originally opened in August 1971, The Big Pineapple stands 16 metres tall and is still one of the Sunshine Coasts premier landmarks. Open Wednesday to Sunday, this part of historic Queensland History has free admission and entry allowing everyone to enter and learn about an iconic piece of history on the Sunshine Coast.


Rail, hail or shine, The Big Pineapple hosts Fine Foods, Growers and Artisans Markets every Saturday from early morning till noon. Showcasing gourmet foods, local fresh produce and live music. It is one of the biggest all-weather markets on the coast. You are able to enjoy drinks, yummy cakes and sundaes from the on-site cafe and embrace the panoramic view from the recently refurbished lookout. The Big Pineapple has been recently restored from top to bottom complete with new shiny leaves allowing patrons to ‘Climb the Pine’ once again.


The Big Pineapple also has a barnyard full of beautiful fury friends which the kids and adults alike will absolutely love. Animals include donkey, deer, alpaca, pigs, chickens and ducks and operates over each weekend! Everyone will love touching and hand feeding the amazingly cute farm friends. The petting farm is also available for children’s birthday parties which will be sure to put smiles on everyone’s face and will create unforgettable memories for all!
